![]() Definitely requires cleansing oil to remove it, even on the body. moisturizer) but it dries down fine on my bare skin (not like I use moisturizer in the AM to begin with tho, I have oily skin). This sunscreen doesn't dry down if I use something underneath it (e.g. Anessa is a highly reputable sunscreen brand in japan and is perhaps the most popular mid-tier/luxe sunscreen brand in east/southeast asia. This didn't work for me (application wise) but I am very positive that this provides the protection that is on it's label. I want to add, I am not debating the efficacy of the anessa. Also I would like to add this was my experience with the sunscreen. Has anyone else tried the 2020 version? What were your thoughts on it?Įdit: Some formatting issues. In comparison, with just water the p20 for kids will wash off of my hands (this is straight after application so I guess it takes a while for the p20 to form a film). I have to rinse and repeat 2-3 more times in order for the soap to foam and remove what sunscreen is on my hands. After application I wash my hands and the soap doesn’t even foam up at all. This is the hardest to remove sunscreen I own. On my dry body skin the sunscreen sets to a powdery finish so it feels very comfortable to wear. I will finish this sunscreen on my neck and arms. I thought I’d be fine since I’m east asian but nope there was an obvious whitecast on me. I shouldn’t have been surprised given the amount of zinc lol. I was actually so surprised by how much of a white cast the sunscreen had on my nc25 skin tone. I guess this will be the last sunscreen with zinc that I try. I was hoping that because the anessa has nano sized zinc, the zinc wouldn’t dehydrate my skin so much. I reserve the term greasy for european sunscreens lol.Įven though the finish was shiny, by the end of the day my face felt extra dehydrated. The anessa is shiny but it doesn’t look like there’s a thick layer of shiny residue on my face like some european sunscreens. The sunscreen remained as a shiny layer on my face that didn’t dry down or absorb into my skin. I also tested different moisturizers underneath. Note, I wait 20-30 mins after applying skincare before I apply sunscreen. Maybe if I apply 0 skincare products the sunscreen would set properly? I have no clue but this sunscreen is too drying for my skin type to do that. Edit: I forgot to mention I use a 1/4 tsp measuring spoon to dose out the sunscreen. That being said, when I tried the sunscreen on my face it just never set to that powdery finish. This transforms from a dry oil (feels very oily) to a powdery finish on my dry body skin. Thin but has enough viscosity where it doesn’t slip through your fingers. The texture change is kinda insane and I’ve never felt anything like it in a sunscreen. On my hands (dry/eczema prone) the sunscreen transformed from a dry oil to powdery finish. I was initially wowed by the hand swatch that I did. Fitzpatrick type 3|4 and nc25 skin tone.īeen eyeing this sunscreen for years and finally decided to order it. Skintype: normal, type 1 rosacea, sensitive, and prone to dehydration. On occasion during the initial application I get a burning sensation that subsides after several mins (I’ve used many sunscreens with alcohol and this is the first time I’ve had this reaction - ). TLDR: Does not dry down on my normal-dehydrated skin type. If you have any suggestions or things to add, please message the mods! Note that abusive or rude treatment of mods is not tolerated.
